CALC
Free tool from The Design Lab

The Room Lighting Calculator.

Most lighting plans go wrong because they're built around fixtures instead of around the room. This calculator works the other way. Enter the dimensions, the ceiling height, and the natural light level. The output is a target for ambient, task, and accent lighting in that specific room, plus how many fixtures it takes to hit it.

The framework comes from Guide 01. The calculator is free. Use it as many times as you need.

Beyond the Math

The calculator handles the math.

Guide 01 covers the rest. Fixture types, color temperature, three-layer composition, and the room-by-room application specs the calculator doesn't have space for.
